چکیده
using a new numerical model, the pump-to-signal relative intensity noise (rin) transfer in singlepumpfiber optical parametric amplifiers for low modulation frequencies is investigated. the model includesfiber loss, pump depletion, as well as the gain saturation, and therefore, it can describe the practicalcircumstances associated with various applications of fiber optical parametric amplifiers. the nonlineardynamics of the rin transfer for different pump and signal powers is studied. the impact of the input pumpand signal powers and signal wavelength on the rin transfer is also investigated. finally, the model iscompared to the available experimental data and a very good agreement is obtained

Impact of Input Pump Profile on the Gain Spectrum and the Saturation Behavior of One-Pump Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifiers
In this article, the impact of input pump profile on the gain spectrum as well as the saturation behavior of one-pump fiber optical parametric amplifiers (FOPAs) is investigated. Since in practical circumstances, pump sources used for FOPAs have Lorentz-Gaussian profile instead of Gaussian, a more realistic case is considered for simulating FOPAs in this article. The results of simulations for ...
متن کاملPump-noise transfer in dual-pump fiber-optic parametric amplifiers: walk-off effects.
Transfer of intensity noise from pumps to signal in dual-pump fiber-optic parametric amplifiers is simulated numerically for a realistic configuration in which both pumps are amplified and filtered before they enter the fiber. The walk-off effects induced by different group velocities of pumps, signal, and idler are fully taken into account. It is found that the optical signal-to-noise ratio ca...

Impact of Fourth-Order Dispersion Coefficient on the Gain Spectrum and the Saturation Behavior of One-Pump Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifiers
In this paper, the gain spectrum and the saturation behavior of one-pump fiber optical parametric amplifiers (1-P FOPAs) are investigated by taking into account the fourth-order dispersion coefficient b4 in the analysis. The results show that it is necessary to consider b4 in the analysis when the wavelength difference between the signal and pump waves is large enough and/or whenever the pump w...
متن کاملBroadband fiber optical parametric amplifiers.
The bandwidth of a single-pump fiber optical parametric amplifier is governed by the even orders of fiber dispersion at the pump wavelength. The amplifier can exhibit gain over a wide wavelength range when operated near the fiber's zero-dispersion wavelength. It can also be used for broadband wavelength conversion, with gain. We have experimentally obtained gain of 10-18 dB as the signal wavelen...
متن کاملFiber optical parametric amplifier with double-pass pump configuration.
Characteristics of fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) with double-pass pump configuration are experimentally investigated. The double-pass pump FOPA exhibits more than two-fold steeper gain slope in comparison to the conventional FOPA due to elongation of effective fiber length. In the L-band amplification band, a secondary idler is generated and used as the transmission signal in lieu o...
